THE BATTLE OF THE MIND

There so many battles in life. Some were prepared for, some we stepped into unware and unprepared. Some times battles are fought in other to advance in life. We all came to this world as a champion after we fought a battle of supremacy amidst millions of other spe*m cells. But your own spe*m cell fertilised the egg in your mother which then produces the real you.

As human beings, we are surrounded with battles. But the level, nature, duration, composition, size of these battles differ. As a result of experience, many have fought multiple battles and became a champion. But the truth we all should admit is that, there is NO small battle, he who go through one can really tell.

But Today, I want to talk about one of the greatest battle in life called THE BATTLE OF THE MIND. This battle does not chose its colour, race, height, weight, gender, status, class whether rich or poor, does not chose by position whether you are spiritually loaded or baby in the spirit. It’s a battle that confronts everyone that lives on the surface of the earth. Everyone of us including the writer and this reader of this article, is going through or would have gone through the battle of the mind.

Let us talk scriptures. The bible spoke of a very mighty man of God. The forerunner of our Lord Jesus. Talking about John The Baptist. The Word of God gave an astonishing record of him. He was so powerful and became so dreadful to the Sadducces, Pharisees. He lived in the wilderness. He speaks from the from the wilderness and his voice is heard all over the cities. He was sent from God. Am speaking from John Chapter 1. John was the first person that gave us an insight as regard to how the Word which was in the beginning with God became flesh and dwell among us. John was going about doing the business of God has he was commissioned. In river Jordan as he was busy baptizing people he lifted up his head and saw the lamb of God.
“The next day he saw Jesus coming toward him, and said, “Behold, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!” John 1:29.

Verse 32 says Then John gave this testimony: “I saw the Spirit come down from heaven as a dove and remain on him. And verse 34 “I have seen and I testify that this is God’s Chosen One.”

Wow, very interesting testimonies about the Messaiah, about Jesus Christ. I intentionally dwell much to tell you more about John so that you could understand better what am about so unravel next. John the Baptist ran into problems, he was imprisoned and threatened to be killed just the same way we too run into problems and one way or the other we found ourselves in the prison and the situation seems it’s going to kill us. But the Lord shall deliver us all in Jesus Mighty Name. Amen. John sent two of his disciples to meet Jesus and ask if He is the one to come (THE MESSIAH) or they should be expecting someone else. Luke 7:19 This is where am going. The question is what happened to all the wonderful testimonies John gave about Jesus confirming that He is the MESSAIAH? John expected Jesus to show up in the prison and just release him with His powers. How could a whole Prophet of God who bear so much witnesses can still be confused with the truth he already knew. Hmmmm?

Hmmm! That is what I call the BATTLE OF THE MIND. If it happened to John The Baptist, it is happening to everyone too. A situation you begin to doubt the existence of God, a situation when you begin to doubt the miraculous power of God, a situation when you think God is sleeping, a situation when you think God has deserted you, Just like John thought Jesus had forsaken him. In all this situations you felt a strong battle in your mind because THE HEART OF MAN AS ALWAYS BEING THE BATTLE GROUND, THE SEAT OF POWER. GOD WANTS TO CONTROL IT, THE DEVIL ALSO WANTS TO CLAIM IT. John could not help it, he has to doubt all what he has previously seen and believed through Divine revelations.

In the same vein, many who have once enjoyed the glory of God in this great church Celestial, having fall into some problems they begin to doubt if the power of God truly exist in Celestial Church of Christ again. So many became addicted spiritual furnicators moving from one mountain to another, from one church to another, from one denomination to another.

Let me give you another case study. There was a man called Peter the same one that denied Jesus for 3 times and when he encountered power, he also won 3,000 souls for Christ. Despite the fact that Peter have seen all what Jesus has done not only that, he had heard many teachings from Jesus but there was a big battle going on in his mind the battle was If we will all lay down all we had because of you and we follow you what will be our gain? Just like you too, sometimes you unconsciously or consciously speak “If I drop what I have with me for God, who will feed my family,? Will the Shepherd, Pastor, Prophet feed my family? They will go and I will be left in my predicaments. In the same mind you will have a very strong conviction that you should drop it and see the goodness of God. God will surely surprise you and you are caught up in between. It’s a very serious matter.

WHAT TO DO DURING THE THE BATTLE OF THE MIND
Matthew 12:34 says Out of the abundance of the HEART the mouth speaks.

1. Trust God more. Increase your trust in God.

2. Trust the authenticity and infallible nature of His Words

3. Praise and Worship God wholeheartedly.

4. Communicate with your Father in prayers. Ask for mercy and grace to win the battles.

5. Resist the devil and it shall flee. Rebuke every negative thoughts that brings up battle in the mind.

6. Feed your heart, your mind with quality and meaningful things.

7. Watch your companies. Be careful of those that consciously or unconsciously speak into your heart. Stay clear from those that have negative influences that could conterminate your heart. Guard your heart, mind, spirit and soul jealously. Don’t be careless.!

The Battle of The Mind is the battle that confronts all human beings but some have been destroyed in it, some lost precious opportunities in it. But I know that as God liveth you shall come out of it unhurt in Jesus Mighty Name. Amen.
